Our twelfth annual international short story award is now open for entries and closes on 27th April, 2026.

Our judge this year is Gordon Wise from the literary agency, Curtis Brown. (An interview with him is coming early in the New Year)

Prizes are £1200 first prize
£300 second prize
£100 third prize
£100 Acorn Award for an unpublished writer of fiction
£50 for the Local Prize, in book vouchers from Mt B’s Emporium of Books, in Bath

In other news the 2025 anthology (covered pictured here) will be published very soon by Ad Hoc Fiction and contains the shortlisted and winning stories from our 2025 competition. We’re looking forward to seeing it in print!
